                                                                             Lenne Hart = Great Announcer

If you have ever watched any of the lavish fighter entrances in Pride, then you have probably heard Lenne Hart announce the
fighters.  To hear her is something to behold in itself.  She really adds a lot to the Pride fighting experience.  No two introductions of hers are ever the same, even for the same fighter on different nights.  Her enthusiasm in the introductions builds suspense, and gets the audience pumped.

I have never heard such introductions before, and it almost gives me chills when I hear her.  It is perfect for the Pride setting.  She can do so much with her voice, and she even announces in rhythm with the music the fighter chose.  I would love to be introduced by her; and it doesn’t even have to be before a fight, she could do it when I wake up in the morning.  Hearing her announce my name would get me fired up to take on the day.

Being from America, I always heard the standard “Lets Get Ready to Rumble”, by Michael Buffer before fights.  He does the same thing every time.  Lenne Hart is refreshingly different.  Maybe American audiences might consider her over-the-top, but Pride fighting was over-the-top as far as production, attendance, and great fights goes.

If you hear Lenne Hart for the first time, you would probably assume that it is some little shrieking Asian woman.  After all, Pride was in Japan.
She is actually from New York City, and she is white, middle aged.  If you saw her walking down the street you may mistake her for a school teacher or something.  She moved to Japan in the 80’s and got this job because Pride needed someone who could speak both Japanese and English.

Pride could not have made a better choice for an announcer.

Her trademark is the trill she does with her voice, but she also has growls and varies her voice tone depending on the fighter’s music.  It really does take talent to do it like she does.  I am very thankful to hear her.

Part of the reason Lenne Hart is so great is because she truly understands the sport of MMA and respects the fighters so much. She knows that
this is a big deal.  She emphasizes this in her interviews.  She says things like “this is the fighter’s time to shine" and "I want to add to their
experience.”  She seems like a lot of fun as a person and full of energy.

Honestly, I’ve re-watched certain Pride fights just because I loved the introductions she gave so much.

I would sleep with her based just on the sounds she could potentially make in bed.  Think about it, wouldn’t that be wild?  Hearing her shrieking and trilling with that voice?

One of my favorite fighter entrances of hers is the one she did for Alex Steibling before his fight against Anderson Silva at Pride 21.  It makes me groove to the music.  Even Wanderlei Silva is grooving to it in Anderson Silva’s corner.  Steibling went on to have his eyebrow shattered in the fight though.

And of course, all the Fedor entrances she did were great.

Lenne Hart, thank you for working in Pride.

What are your favorite introductions of hers?
