Quinton Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva (2nd fight)

This is the most violent, skilled, fast paced, back-and-forth fight I’ve ever seen. One of the greatest fights ever in MMA.  The sheer brutality of it will leave an impression on you.  This fight is so epic you will never forget it for the rest of your life.

Coming into this fight both fighters seriously did not like each other, and it wasn’t acting.  It was the closest thing to a real personal grudge match ever between two fighters in Pride.  Most fights in Pride were never personal between the fighters, they took a more professional approach to fights, but in this one you can feel it.  Compared to UFC where it’s standard to have a segment before the fight of the fighters talking trash to each other to “hype it up”, this rivalry in Pride was for real and intense.

Get ready to see a war between two men.   You will not see such savageness in UFC because of the rule differences.

I'm not going to do a play-by-play of this fight. My thoughts are that Wanderlei was the overall aggressor, but at the end of the 1st round Jackson had Wanderlei in big trouble. Wanderlei got saved by the bell so we have to wonder what might have happened.

The end of this fight is shocking...

I have nothing but respect for these two men. They should be forever honored as great warriors. Wanderlei Silva and Quinton Jackson, thank you for fighting in Pride.
